Corizon News: Corizon Awarded Alameda County Contract Extension
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., (Feb. 4, 2013) – Corizon, the nation’s leader in correctional healthcare solutions, announced it has been awarded a new contract extension to provide medical services for Alameda County, Calif., effective immediately.
The Board of Supervisors for the county unanimously approved a three-year extension of the current contract, through 2016. The contract will continue Corizon’s 25-year partnership with the County of Alameda.
“This contract is a shining example of how Corizon’s vision and mission statements are not just a marketing campaign, but reflected in the actions of our dedicated staff and the way we do business every day,” said Rich Hallworth, Corizon’s Chief Executive Officer. “We look forward to continuing this successful partnership with Alameda County for many years to come.”
“We have been working closely with Alameda County to develop creative strategies for delivering quality healthcare at a reasonable cost,” said Stuart Campbell, President & Chief Operating Officer of Corizon. “Based upon our years of experience partnering together, and our knowledge of Alameda County’s operations, we were able to free up critical funds for increased correctional officer coverage and additional equipment to improve facility operations.”
Sheriff Greg Ahern commented, “As Sheriff of Alameda County, I am very pleased that we are able to continue with our services with Corizon. This has been a very long and a very successful partnership. Corizon has provided excellent service to our inmate population while saving the County millions of dollars over the length of the contract.”
With the new contract, Corizon’s team will continue to deliver comprehensive medical, dental and support services to approximately 3,300 inmates in Alameda County.
Corizon provides quality healthcare services at nearly 530 correctional facilities across the country serving approximately 377,000 inmates in 28 states.
